Slow-Cooker Chicken Chili

Oh my!! This is all kinds of delicious!! I just had a bowl of this yesterday and it was wonderful! My friend Sandra made this and shared the recipe. It is so easy to make.

I love to make a big batch of soup or chili then freeze meal-size portions in my 1 cup silicon freezer molds.

Once the soup/chili is frozen, I pop it out (like ice cubes), put them into a large ziplok bag and back into the freezer, ready for a meal on a nice cold day!!

This Slow Cooker Chicken Chili is perfect for freezing!

Again, thank you Sandra for sharing!

Slow Cooker Chicken Chili

 2 boneless skinless chicken breast

1 11 ounce can of corn, drained - I use frozen

1 15 ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed

1 10 ounce can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup cooked chopped bacon - (I do not use)

1 1 ounce packet of ranch seasoning and salad dressing mix

1 teaspoon cumin

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 8 ounce Philadelphia brand cream cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Place chicken at bottom of slow cooker. Add corn, black beans, diced tomatoes and green chilies,

chicken broth, cumin, chili powder, onion powder, ranch seasoning and bacon. Place cream cheese on top of all this. Cover with lid and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with two forks return to slow cooker and stir in cheese and serve with Fritos, cornbread sticks, or over rice.

TIPS:

I promise you, two chicken breasts are enough, three max

If you want to kick it up a notch, instead of the cheddar cheese you could use pepper jack cheese or the 'hot' diced tomatoes and green chilies.

You can also add jalapeños if you really want to kick it up!!

Only use Philadelphia brand cream cheese. Other brands do not melt well.

Can be cooked on stovetop.

Can be cooked on high in the slow cooker for four hours but I think the chicken is much more

tender cooking it on low for eight hours.

Can be frozen.

This is a super easy recipe, takes just a few minutes to throw together with a big reward at the

end of the day.

3 FLAP FUN FOLD CARD with DAFFODIL AFTERNOON

This is such a fun card that spotlights the Designer Series Paper. The paper I used for my card is Daffodil Afternoon, a Sale-A-Bration free choice with a $50 purchase.

These are the supplies that you will need.
    Basic Black cardbase - 4 1/2 x 4 1/4
    Basic White  5 1/4 x 3 7/8
    Daffodil Afternoon DSP 4 3/4 x 3 3/4
Crushed Curry cardstock to be used for the flaps  5 1/4 x 4 1/4
    Layering Circles Framelits
    Sentiment for inside

You will need to cut the So Saffron piece for the flaps along the long side at 2 1/8" two times, leaving the third piece at 1".

Then you will also need to cut the DSP for the flaps. If your DSP has a specific direction, be careful to cut it the correct direction. Make the first cut at 1 7/8" for the top piece. Turn the paper around and cut 1 7/8" again for the bottom piece, leaving the center 1". Trim 1/8" off the center piece. Set these pieces aside in the order you want them to be on your card front.

The FB Live video shows how to cut the flaps and assemble this card. You'll be glad you gave it a try! Such a fun card to send to someone special!

Slimline Card Using Floral Squares dies

Slimline cards have become very popular even though they have been around for awhile. Stampin' Up has come out with a stamp and die set just for slimline cards called Slim Sayings

As you can see, the sentiments are designed for the slimline, and the dies create interesting backgrounds that stretch the length of the card!

I love creating slimline cards so I demonstrated making one on my Facebook Live this week and it is also on YouTube

Here are the measurements for the supplies I used.
    *Basic White cardbase    8 1/2 x 7, scored at 3 1/2 on the 7" side
*Floral Squares dies cut on Basic Black scraps (4 squares)
*New Horizons Designer Series Paper cut 1 3/4" squares (4)
*Black strip 1 1/4" x 8 1/2" cut with border die from Flowering Rain Boots for inside
*sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamped with Black Memento ink.

I also used one of the new Stampin Up slimline envelopes and cut a piece to cover the flap from the DSP.

The assembly of the card is easy. Cut the four Floral Squares from Basic Black cardstock. Cut the inside Flowering Rain Boots trim piece from Basic Black as well.

Choose the four colors you want for the backgrounds and cut 1 3/4" square of each.

Then glue the backgrounds to the Floral Squares, Arrange on card front to your liking and glue down.
Stamp the sentiment along the bottom and attach the border piece to the inside.

Choose the DSP you want for the flap of your envelope and trace the flap on the backside of the DSP with a pencil. Cut and adhere to the flap front.

You are done!! Hope you enjoy creating slimline cards!

Sweet Conversations Tic Tac Toe card

This tic tac toe card caught my eye on Pinterest and then I saw how to make it on a YouTube video and had to give it a try. I was using my Sweet Talk Suite to make some cards for a monthly class-to-go and although I didn't include this card in my Monthhly Class to Go, it was a fun 'additional' card to make!

The Sweet Conversations stamp set includes an 'x' stamp and an 'o' stamp, so of course we need a Tic Tac Toe board! I decided to use one of the heart dies instead of the 'o' stamp.

Here is the stamp set and the dies. You really need the dies - I had a hard time creating a card with just the stamp set although this card could have been made just using the 'o' instead of hearts. 😉

You need the following supplies
Basic White card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4").
Basic White piece 4 1/4" square and a scrap for the sentiment
Real Red piece 4 1/2" square and a piece of Real Red scrap to die cut 5 hearts.
Basic Black scrap to mat the sentiment
DSP to go behind the board...I wanted black and white so had to use a piece from a retired SAB Beautifully Penned set. There is some more black & white dsp coming out soon though!
Black Memento ink,
Black embossing powder
Tear N Tape
heat gun.

Using a ruler, divide the 4 1/4" square Basic White piece into a grid. I penciled in the lines measured      1 3/8" from one side then 1 3/8" from the opposite side. Rotate one turn and do the same again.

Then place your Tear N Tape strips over the two lines going one direction. Trim the tape to the edge of the cardstock. Burnish really well then take the top off the tape. Place the Tear N Tape strips onto the remaining two lines, burnish, remove the tops and trim.

Now you're ready to add the embossing powder. I use a small paint brush to remove stray specks of embossing powder. Use your heat tool to melt the powder. When you finish this part, you should have this...

Use the slimmer heart die and cut 5 hearts. Place the hearts where you want them so that you know where to stamp your 'x's. Attach your hearts with liquid glue.
Stamp your sentiment and banner the ends. Adhere to the black piece, trim to leave a small edge and banner the ends of the black as well. Attach the sentiment across the red 'x's with dimensionals.

Attach the DSP to the front of the card base. Attach the white piece to the Real Red square and adhere to the card front.

Your card is finished and you have a really cute Tic Tac Toe card to give to someone special.
