Tri-fold Funfold

 

 

 

Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, 3 ½” x 4 ¾”, 2 ¾” x 4”

DSP  #1  4” x 5 ¼”

         #2  3 ¼” x 4 ½”

         #3  2 ½” x 3 ¾”

 

Score 5 ½’ x 8 ½” cardstock at 1 1/16”, 2 1/8”, 3 3/16” and 4 ¼”

 

 

  This is what the back of my template looks like.

After you have scored the cardbase at all 4 spots, then fold your cardstock at the 4 1/4" score as you would a normal card.Then accordian fold the next 3 scorelines...back and forth from the initial fold.

Open cardbase with inside facing you and place on trimmer with 5 1/2" edge at top and scorelines toward the top. Place at the 4" mark on the left edge and cut from the first scoreline up. Move to the 4 3/4" mark and cut from the 3rd scoreline up.

Now with scissors, cut the tabs as follows: cut from the 4 1/4" fold to the 3rd scoreline, Then cut from the 2nd scoreline to the 1st. After you have done that, your template should look like the one to the right.

We're ready to assemble the card! Adhere the largest DSP to the inside of the card. Adhere the next largest DSP to the 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of cardstock. Then adhere the smallest DSP to the smallest cardstock.

Adhere the middle matted DSP to the cardbase, snug up against the inside fold. 

 

 

 

 

 

Then add the smallest matted DSP to the front fold, making sure the edges are even.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is what the template looks like from the front!

Any sentiment or embellishments should fit on the front (smallest) DSP. 

For a greeting inside, 2 3/4" x 2" will fit hidden behind the 2nd layer!

Christmas Gift Card Holders

 I wanted you to see how easy it is to make holders for your Christmas gift cards. I don't know about you, but as my grandchildren enter adulthood, I find it is better to give them gift cards than to try to find something they might need. So I wanted to show you how easy it is to do that.

You can find this tutorial on both Facebook and YouTube. Be sure to watch one of these to get more help on making your gift card holders. 

**I should caution you that a radio station HI-JACKED my video at about 21 minutes for 5 minutes! Crazy, huh! Anyway, just watch and wait patiently...I will come back at about 26. 

I wanted to put the measurements here for you and add the photos.

There are two different styles demonstrated. 

The first was the Double Fold holder. I used Winter Meadow DSP and Misty Moonlight cardstock. Here are the measurements for this one.

Cardstock 1    5" x 4 1/4", scored 1 1/2", 3 3/4" (the 4 1/4" side is the height of the cardholder).                Cardstock 2    3 1/2" x 4 1/4", scored 1 1/4"

Basic White (inside) 4" x 2" (cut 2)

DSP for back  2 1/8" x 4 1/8"                                                                                                                        DSP for front left   4 1/8" x 1 3/8"                                                                                                            DSP for front right  4 1/8" x 2 1/8"  

Belly Band  cardstock  6 1/4" x 1"   DSP 6 1/8" x 3/4"    Add DSP to cardstock then wrap bellyband around to loosely secure the holder shut. Adhere bellyband closed. 

This is the front of the  first style I demonstrated. I decided to add the  bellyband  because it wouldn't

stay closed!

The second card holder that I demonstrated was a Single Fold holder, decorated more ornately using the new Nature's Sweetness DSP which will be available in the January Mini Catalog! This one also uses Gold Distressed Specialty DSP for the punched stems.

The dimensions are as follows

Cardstock  7" x 4 1/4", scored 1 1/2" & 4 1/2"

DSP   2 1/4" x 4", 1 1/4" x 4"

Belly Band   DSP 9 1/2" x 3/4"         Cardstock   8 3/4" x 1/2"

Basic White  2 1/4" x 4"

Scrap of DSP and white for the sentiment piece and a scrap of Gold Distressed DSP for the stems.

October 19 Mystery Card

 I'm thrilled to share this Mystery Card with you. I love this design and hope that you will too. You can see the card demonstrated on my Facebook page or on my You Tube Channel.

Here is the list of supplies that you will need to make this card.

Basic White or Very Vanilla, 11” x 4 ¼”, scored at 5 1/2”, 4”x4” sq,

4” x 5 1/4”, app. 3” x 1” for sentiment

5 different coordinating patterns DSP 4” x ¾” each for a total of 5 strips, 1/2” x 6” (cut 2) of one of the darker patterns

2-3 coordinating images, stamped and diecut or fussycut

8" ribbon if desired

Sentiment stamp to fit label

You will work with the 4" square piece first. You will cut in half but instead of diagonal, it will be an offset cut...using your pencil, make a mark on the left 1 1/2" up from the bottom. Then on the right, make a mark 3/4" down from the top. Line these two marks up on your trimmer and cut in half.

Next you will place these two halves on your card front, one at the top and the other at the bottom. Make a pencil mark along the two dotted lines and this will be your layout guide. Remove the two pieces and set aside.

Now it's time to line up your DSP strips side by side on your card front, making sure they strips cover the two pencil marks, When you glue these strips down, make sure that there is a space of about 1/8" on each side. 

Take the two longer 1/2" strips and glue one along the inside edge of the top piece of white cardstock and one along the inside edge of the bottom piece of cardstock. These two strips will create a narrow border on each piece.

Now it's time to glue the top and bottom cardstock onto the card base, over the DSP strips. You could adhere these two pieces with dimensionals is desired. I didn't on mine and I tell you why on the video. 

Your next step is to add your images to the front in any way you desire. You can also add ribbon and whatever else you want.

Use the 3" x 1" strip for your sentiment and add it to the front.

I took a strip of the DSP and adhered it to the bottom of the 4"x5 1/4" cardstock then added it to the inside of my card. You could also add another sentiment if desired.

You are finished with you card! Don't you just love it?!

Stampin' Thursday Mystery Card 9/21/23

It's Stampin' Thursday Mystery Card time! But even if this Thursday has passed, it's never to late to gather these supplies, tune in here. and we'll make this Mystery Card together, step by step. I'll be making one as you make yours.

 

Supplies:

Cardstock #1 - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"

Cardstock #2 - 4" x 5 1/4" (different color than #1 but both should coordinate with your DSP

DSP - 2" x 2 3/4" - cut 2, one each from 2 different patterns...this card is LANDSCAPE oriented

2-3 small images, stamped, diecut/fussycut, colored

Basic White or Very Vanilla no larger than 1 1/2" x 3" for sentiment

Black Memento ink or color of your choice for your sentiment

Sentiment of your choice

Ribbon 2 pieces 5" & 8"

Embellishments optional

As you watch the video, the one thing I need to caution you about is DON'T glue your cardstock down until you've adhered the DSP AND the ribbon. I messed up on the video and by the time I caught my mistake, it might be too late for you!! So be warned!!

This card is made with All About Autumm DSP.

This card is using the colorful Blueberry Bushel and Lemon Lime Twist from Glorious Gingham DSP.

This sample card uses Inked Botanicals DSP to create this subtle but wonderful look!

Lastly this card uses the beautiful Winter Meadow DSP to send Love to a friend!

Showcasing Your Scenic DSP

This is a great template that will showcase your beautiful scenic Designer Series Paper. And it is so easy! 

The dimensions for cutting the DSP and the cardstock are as follows:

    DSP  5 1/4" tall x 6" wide (if using 6"x 6" paper, just cut 3/4" off the top or the bottom and you will have the correct dimensions. Otherwise, make sure your design is 5 1/4" tall! Then cut your DSP at 2 3/4", remove and  cut the next piece at 1 1/8". You should now have 3 pieces - your scene in 3 pieces!

    Card Base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 1 1/2" and 4 1/4", Fold and burnish the folds really well. Fold at the 4 1/4" fold first then fold the 2nd scored line back.
