Stampin' Thursday Masking Tape Technique

This is a fun technique, albeit a little messy!! So have a wipe handy!

The supplies you'll need are a cardbase, Basic White 5 1/4" x 4" (2), a small sentiment piece of Basic White, stamps, 5 ink pads that coordinate, a dark ink for your image and sentiment, a larger image stamp and a sentiment stamp. You'll also need the narrower masking tape.

To see this technique, you should watch the YouTube video.

Here is the first sample I shared.

This card was made using Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Shy Shamrock Flirty Flamingo, Pretty in Pink, starting with the Pool Party.  Once I completed the colors all the way down, I stamped the shepherd image from Shepherd's Care. I also used one of my circle dies (I think this one was Deckled Circles) and stamped the sentiment also from Shepherd's Care. I mounted the sentiment with dimensionals. I used two of the colors on the inside piece as well as the flap edge of the envelope. The card base is Coastal Cabana.

This is the card I demonstrated on the video. The colors turned out darker than I anticipated but you can at least see how the technique is done. The card base is Petunia Pop. I looked on the Color Wheel and used the two colors around Petunia Pop as well as the colors across the wheel from it. I used Berry Burst, Petunia Pop, Fresh Fresia, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist. I used Pebbled Path for the image (from Quiet Meadow) and the sentiment.

Like I said, the colors turned out darker than I anticipated but I still think this technique creates beautiful cards!

The demonstration can be seen on YouTube or on my Facebook page.

I hope you'll give this technique a try. I think you'll love it! Next time I'm going to try blues and yellows!
