We all need odd sized envelopes at one time or another. I'm going to show you two different methods to create an envelope. The first is very specific to the 4"x4" card. The second method can accommodate any size card.
For the 4"x4" card, you will need a 10" x 5 3/8" piece of DSP. Score the DSP along the long side at 4 1/8" and 8 3/4".
Turn 1/4 turn to the short side and score 3/8" on both sides.
Trim the tabs away on both 4 1/8" sides (shorter end).
Trim the tabs away next to the flap and round the edges of the flap. You can also round the edges of the two side tabs if desired.
You will then fold the two side tabs in and place Tear N Tape on the inside of each tab. You could also use glue if desired. Fold the bottom half up and hold the tabs in place until the glue adheres.
Fold the flap down and you have your envelope!
The second method can work for any size envelope. Measure the card diagonally and add an inch to that measurement. Cut your paper at that number squared. So if your card measures 5 1/4" diagonally, you will cut your DSP to 6 1/4" square. To fold this envelope, you should watch the YouTube video
These are the three envelopes that were made using the square diamond fold method.
