Do you love making cards but just don't think you have the tools to make a pretty card? Let me show you how you can make beautiful cards with just some cardstock and Designer Series Paper! You may also need some embellishments like ribbon or gems.
The things that I feel are necessary to have when you don't have a Cut and Emboss machine or any dies or stamps...
*Choose the Designer Series Paper you want to use and look at the colors used in that paper
*Cardstock in one or two of those coordinating colors. You may also just use Basic White.
*A good pair of snips and a paper trimmer
*A good set of sentiment stamps and an acrylic block for those
*A label punch (OPTIONAL - you could just hand trim your sentiments)
*Coordinating ribbon and gems, dots or jewels (OPTIONAL but I think you'll want them)
*Black Memento ink
*Envelopes
That's it. Get ready to create!! With these supplies, you should be able to make dozens of cards!
My Facebook Live today demonstrated making 4 cards. Here are the supplies and measurements for each one.
This card uses the Dainty Flowers DSP which is a Sale-A-Bration $50 item. The cardbase is Rich Razzleberry cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 5 1/4". The mat is Highland Heather 3 1/4" x 5 1/4". The DSP is cut at 3" x 5". The YouTube video will describe how to get the most out of this sheet of DSP. The ribbon is two pieces, one cut at 4" to wrap around the card and secured on the back. The other piece is app. 3" and just tied in a loose single knot. The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration item, Beautifully Happy stamp set, a $100 choice.
I adhered a 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of the same DSP to a Basic White 4" x 5 1/4" piece and adhere this to the inside.
The next card is also using the Dainty Flowers DSP. The cardbase is Calypso Coral, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The Old Olive mat is 5 1/8" x 3 3/4" with two opposite corners rounded. The DSP is cut at 4 7/8" x 3 1/2", also with the same two corners rounded. The sentiment is from Shaded Summer and is stamped with Black Memento in the center of the wreath. Both the mat and the DSP are then adhered to the front of the cardbase. The twine is from the Three Twine Combo Pack in the new Mini Catalog. About 10" of each color will be enough to tie a double bow. Adhere the bow with a glue dot and your card is finished. You can put a Basic White piece on the inside again just as on the previous card.
