Cute and Simple Easter Card

On Stampin Thursday's Facebook Live I focused on a layout for a simple Easter card.

As with any sketch, this can be manipulated to suit your own style. The samples below will show how I did that on 3 different cards.

I demonstrated the bunny card on my  Facebook Live/YouTube video. The card base is your standard    8 1/2" by 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". I used Basic White on all 3 of these. The next layer is your basic mat size - 5 1/4" x 4".  I used Basic Gray. Then for the 3rd layer, I used my Contour Dies on two of the cards and the Stitched Rectangle on the third card. For the bunny card I cut the Pale Papaya DSP from the 2021-2023 In Color 6x6 pack using the 2nd largest Contour Die.

I stamped the bunny on Basic White with Basic Gray ink. I used a very fine tipped black pen to add a little shading under the face and around the arms (which just barely show). I also used the pen to darken the eyes, nose and mouth. I cut this layer with the next to largest Layering Oval Framelits.

The flower is punched from the same DSP pack using the Flowers and Leaves punch. I punched two flowers, rounded the petals up a little then layered them with a dot of glue. I punched two leaves from Mint Macaron cs and attached them to the back of the flower. I adhered the flower to the bunny with Multi-Purpose white glue to look like the bunny is holding the flower.

The sentiment is stamped on Basic White with Basic Gray ink. I bannered it on one end and added it to the card front with dimensionals.

All of this is finished off with a Genial Gem in the center of the flower and a Brushed Brass Butterfly flying away from the flower!

It makes a card really easy when no coloring is required, even though I love to color! Do you?

Partial Die Cut Card

This card is so much fun! Choose a stamp that you like and the coordinating die, gather the paper listed below and you are ready to create!!

*Cardbase - solid cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
*mats - a different cardstock  4" x 5 1/4"   and   2 1/8" x 4 5/8"
*Basic White cardstock   3 3/4" x 5"   and 2" x 4 1/2" (this piece can also be a Designer Series Paper)

You'll also need coordinating inks, tools to color your stamped image if needed, and embellishments if desired.

You can see the video demonstrating this card either on Facebook or on YouTube

On my card I used Pale Papaya cardbase. My mats were Soft Succulent. Then I had my Basic White     3 3/4" x 5" piece and the Designer Series Paper is the New Horizons cut at 2" x 4 1/2".

I adhered my Soft Succulent mat to the cardbase. I also adhered my DSP to the 2 1/8" x 4 5/8" Soft Succulent mat. Next I stamped my image in the center of the Basic White, making sure that some of it will show beyond the matted DSP. With the matted DSP in position on the cardfront, place the coordinating die over the part of the stamped image that is showing and the matted DSP. When you have it positioned over the stamped image, secure onto the DSP with Washi Tape or post-it. Run this through your diecut machine. Position the DSP over the stamped image to make sure it cut correctly. Before you adhere the DSP with dimensionals, stamp any other images you may want as well as the sentiment. Place the sentiment in the bottom right corner.
Adhere your matted DSP, add embellishments and you're done!!

Here are the other samples that I did.
You can use any stamp set with coordinating dies, any DSP and you can add as little or as much as you want. The Happy Birthday flower card only has gems added. The Wild Cats card has both stamped greenery and diecut greenery added. As you can see, the sentiment can also be added in many different ways!

Enjoy creating!
