Four Corner Fold Card

Fall is coming! I LOVE Fall - the colors, the smells, the decorations and especially the weather!! So we'll anticipate Fall today with this fun Four Corner Fold card. I used the Stampin' Up Pretty Pumpkins stamp and Detailed Pumpkins coordinating dies for this card. I also used Beauty of  the Earth Designer Series Paper and the Rainbow Glimmer paper.

Take a look at the card then I'll give you the dimensions for this unique fun-fold card.

This card uses an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake card base. The colored cardstock is 4 x 5 1/4 Soft Succulent. The squares of designer series paper are each 2 1.2 x 1 7.8. You will use both sides so make sure you like both. The center piece is 1 3/4 x 1 3/4. The template you will use for the corners is a scrap of cardstock (any color) measuring 2 1/2 x 1 7/8 (same as DSP). I cut my pumpkins from the Rainbow Glimmer paper, used a retired Fall colored ribbon measuring 8" and Holiday Rhinestones.

First adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock to the card base. Take your template piece, a ruler and a pencil. Measure 1 1/4" from the top right corner down and put a mark. Go back to the same corner and measure the same distance to the left across the top and put a mark. Line the two marks up on your trimmer and cut -  you're cutting out that top right corner.

Position your four pieces of Designer Series Paper around the card front the way you want them. Then using your template, fold each of the corners around the center, turning and flipping your template over to fit each piece.

Once you have each of the four corners turned down and positioned around the center, adhere these pieces to your card front, leaving a small edge around the outside.

Next stamp your 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 center piece and attach it to the center with dimensionals. Embellish and you have your card!

To see a demonstration of this unique fold, view video here . I'll post the video to Youtube later and add the link for that as well.

Here are some more sample cards using this technique.

Third Thursday Mystery Card

Third Thursday Mystery Card is coming! Thursday morning at 10 a.m. - right here on Stampindede's Doin's Facebook page.  But first, here is Clue 1 (the supplies you need to do the mystery card!) If you aren't on Facebook, I post the Facebook Live on YouTube later that afternoon so check out my YouTube channel.

Clue 1
1. Choose a DSP (Designer Series Paper) – pick 2 patterns – one more subtle and one busier with more colors.
2. Cut card base from Basic White or a coordinating color cs (cardstock) – 11” x 4 ¼” - scored at 5 ½”.
3. Cut a piece of the busier DSP to 1 ½” x 5 ½”.
4. Cut a piece of the more subtle DSP to 3” x 4”.
5. Cut a piece of Basic White or coordinating color to 4 ¼” x 3 ½” – cut along one side of the 4 ¼” edge with a border die.
6. Cut a shape from Basic White or a coordinating color cs that will fit on the 3” x 4” DSP.
7. Pick an image stamp that can be cut out with a die or punch or fussy cut that will fit on the shape you cut from step 6. (you’ll need a piece of Basic White cs to stamp that image on)
8. Choose a sentiment stamp that is small and long.
9. Cut a tag or label out of Basic White cs that the sentiment will fit on.
10. Choose a ribbon that coordinates with your colors.
11. Choose ink colors that coordinate with your DSP.
12. Choose embellishments that coordinate with your colors.

You will also need: bone folder, adhesive, dimensionals, scissors

Splash of Color

The colors used on this card are bright and beautiful! Oddly enough, my inspiration for these colors were the small Shaker Shapes in the Annual Catalog, pg.143.

The colors I used are Granny Apple Green, Bumblebee and Polished Pink.

My card base was Granny Apple Green, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. The card front was Basic White 4 x 5 1/4. And the flowers I used are Bumblebee and Polished Pink, cut with the Summer Shadows dies, one of the Sale-A-Bration items free with a $100 purchase.

The stamped image is from the Color & Contour stamp set. I used the flower shadow. Using Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green and Bumblebee inks, I alternated stamping across the center of the card front. To give a slightly more subtle image, I stamped off before stamping each color. Then I used the splatter stamp to add a little extra interest with Polished Pink.

I ran the stamped card front through my Cut & Emboss with the largest Scalloped Contour die and attached this to the card base with Stampin Seal.

Using scraps of Polished Pink and Bumblebee cardstock, I cut the larger single flower from the Summer Shadows dies...using both the base image and the outline. Then I assembled the flowers with one of each color glued together with Multipurpose Glue. The two flowers were added to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment from Color & Contour is stamped with Tuxedo Black and 3 of the Shaker Shapes finished off this card.

I love the bright, cheery colors and think anyone would love to receive this uplifting card!

You can view a tutorial for this card here on YouTube. I need to warn you that I had been live for 6 minutes before I realized it! I edited the 6 minutes out during which  I re-arranged my table, checked my hair, looked at the clock, etc. so the video starts when I realize that I'm live!

Thank you for visiting my sight. I hope you will add your e-mail and follow my blog!

Sale-A-Bration Spotlight!

Sale-A-Bration is here for 2 whole months! I wanted to spotlight the products available to you for either a $50 or $100 purchase. Sometimes it helps me just to see how something might be used! So on my Facebook Live this morning, I went through the various products available to you for Sale-A-Bration and showed some cards using those products.

Then, of course, we must make a card, right? So I demonstrated this simple Thanks card using the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper and the Peaceful Deer punch from the Peaceful Deer bundle in the mini-catalog. This Designer Series Paper available with Sale-A-Bration coordinates with the Peaceful Deer bundle.

So take a look and let me know which product is your #1 favorite!
