I boiled the eggs, cooled and peeled them, cut them in half and removed the yolks. I had prepared several cups of water and food coloring (I didn't use the vinegar). I placed several halves in each cup of colored water and soaked them for an hour or so. I probably would have left them longer except it was already late and I needed to get the eggs done and go to bed. I removed the egg halves and drained them on paper towel. I then used the following recipe to devil the yolks...
- 13 hard boiled eggs, peeled
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup mayonnaise (Hellmans or Best Foods)
- 1-2 teaspoons cider vinegar
- 1-2 teaspoons dill pickle juice
- 1-2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- Paprika for garnish
