Another House Mouse Challenge Entry!

I decided to do another House Mouse card since I needed a birthday card! I used Poppin Good Birthday and this card will be an Anything Goes entry on House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge (HMFMC190).

I wanted to try a background technique using Distress Inks that I had seen on UTube. I love how it turned out. I colored the image with Copic Markers and added a little Glossy Accents to the eyes, nose, and candle flames, then attached the image to the Distress Ink background with mounting squares. I tied coordinating floss onto the background piece. I stamped the sentiment from a set of Fiskars sentiment stamps. I stamped the white cardbase with the same Distress Inks using Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge.  Last I mounted the distress ink background piece onto the cardstock base with mounting squares and added some sequin stars as a finishing touch.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (HMFMC190)I love my House Mouse stamps so this challenge interested me a LOT! The challenge is to CASE this card (isn't it cute!).

To CASE a card is to Copy and Share Exactly. I followed the basic concept of using pieces of a House Mouse  image along with a sentiment. Only I took one single image and divided it into 4 sections. I used the stamp 'Butterfliers' along with the sentiment offered as a freebie by Snoopy's Homemade Fun.

I ran the turquoise cardstock through my Big Kick using Stripes embossing folder. I used my Copic markers to color the image before I cut it into 4 pieces and backed each one with brown cardstock. I mounted the sentiment in the center with mounting tape, added some Wink of Stella highlights to the butterflies, and  finished off the card with a few sequins. It was a fun card to make!

Scrappy Background

I love Stamp TV, and I love this technique that Gina Krupsky demonstrates here. It's a great way to use up scraps, and it creates a wonderful, quilted look background. I needed a card for a friend going through a rough time, so I decided to use this technique. I LOVE the way it turned out.

I'll be sitting in front of the TV with my scraps, making an assortment of these backgrounds to use for future cards.

World Card Making Day

What a great thing to celebrate...card-making! And these adorable hedgehog digis were designed by Diane at Daydream Designs as a give-away to celebrate this fun event. And to top it off, they gave the 'two hedgehogs with the envelope' digi as a freebie to use on your card to enter the contest. You have to use a Daydream Designs digi to enter so I took advantage of the freebie to make a card that I'll be sending this week to a friend who's mother is dying.

I used a kraft cardstock base and embossed the bottom edge. I cut the digi image, the sentiment (which I computer generated), and the script designer paper with nestibilities. I punched extra hearts, colored them with R35 Copic marker and stacked the ones on the envelope, placing the other two on the card. Then I added Glossy Accents to allow them to stand out. The flower is a random store-bought flower and the twine from The Twinery. The sentiment says, "Sending LOVE and PRAYERS your way!

FALL is in the Air!!

I love Fall...don't you? The weather is cooler, the leaves are changing colors, Fall mums are blooming everywhere, pumpkin patches appear out of nowhere, and it is a season of thankfulness. In a world that is going crazy, I'm thankful that my part of the world is relatively safe and free, whereas people in other parts of the world are being jailed, persecuted, and even murdered because of what they believe. So I am thankful for my freedom.

Fall colors are so beautiful and I receive inspiration from them. Here is a sample of some of the Fall colors I'm inspired by.
