NO BABY YET!

I just chatted with Tori tonight on Skype, and she's feeling well, with no signs of the baby coming yet. Needless to say, we're getting pretty excited! The baby's actual due date is Tuesday, and we leave a week from Tuesday. Today I washed all the baby things that she received at her shower and packed them in large ziploc bags in the suitcase. I'll start packing my suitcase this next week. We're just waiting to hear that they're on their way to the hospital!! So stay posted!

Sure Cuts A Lot

I'm having so much fun with the new program that I got a few months ago called Sure Cuts A Lot. You use this program to allow you to cut most fonts and dingbats on your Cricut. I spent some time playing yesterday and actually was able to separate the parts of a dingbat and cut it in different colors. I followed the directions on this website

Susan's easy-to-follow directions makes using Inkscape (a vector graphic editing program) and SCAL so much easier! Here's a picture of the bear that I cut and then a few other things I've cut - silhouettes, flourishes, etc.

Tori's 'ON-LINE' Baby Shower

Tori's good friend Teri (who's like a sister) wanted to give Tori a baby shower and, since Tori is in England, the only way to do it was via Skype and our webcams. It turned out really nice. So many of our friends joined us and it was wonderful for Tori to get to see them as well as for them to get to see her. We had lots of goodies to eat - quiche, muffins, fruit pizza, wrapped sausages, cookies, mocha punch, coffee and juice. We also made sure that Tori had something as well by having Greg sneak around and get a cake for her too. They don't do baby showers in England so he couldn't find a 'baby shower cake'. But he got a 'Black Forest Cake' and surprised her with that. She also had some grapes, candies, and brownies (that she made!) After we had refreshments, we played a game called "I Haven't Done This". Everyone gets out their loose change. Then someone makes a statement like "I've never ridden on a subway". Teri had a piggy bank that she passed around, and if you HAD done that thing, you got to put a coin in the bank (for the guest of honor!). Tori got to make her own statement every fourth turn, so she joined us in that way. We kept turning the laptop around so that she could see everyone at some point in the game! Then we had a special prayer of blessing for Tori and Greg and their new baby. Last we opened the present that people had brought. I got to open the presents for Tori, sitting in front of the laptop, and showed each one to her! It was a fun time for all and hopefully Tori and Greg felt honored and loved by all. Easter Fun

We spent Easter with our "Denton family" - Teri, Darren, Kaytlyn & Riley. Teri's brother Tim and step-brother Royce were also with us. It was fun watching the kids hunt for their eggs. We weren't really outside long because the weather was kind of yucky.















































Then we enjoyed a yummy meal that Teri prepared for us.





After dinner, Riley went down for a nap. We played the Wei with Kaytlyn, Darren & Teri. Here BaBa and Kaytlyn are boxing (Kaytlyn won!!) and then Kaytlyn and I read and shared jelly beans. DeDe loves the black jelly beans and Kaytlyn discovered that she likes the black ones too!
