Paneled Fun Fold card

 Today's Facebook Live features a fun fold card that lets you use some of your DSP! I'm always looking for opportunities to use my DSP!

 

The cutting sizes that you will need for this fun fold are as follows:

Cardstock - card base  11" x 5 1/2", scored at 1 1/4", 5 1/2" & 9 1/4"

   cardstock for belly band 10" x 1"

 DSP

    Front & inside flap (smaller flap) cut 2  1" x 5 1/4"

    Larger folded front panel  1 1/2" x 5 1/4"

    Large front panel  3 1/2" x 5 1/4"

Basic White

    4" x 5 1/4" for inside

    scrap for punched or diecut shape

 The Designer Series Paper I used was from the Country Woods collection. The background cardstock is Pool Party as is the belly band. The stamped & diecut image is from Loveliest Tree. The sentiment was also from Loveliest Tree. 

This card was made using DSP from the Woven Textures collection.The card base is Crumb Cake.  I stamped the coffee splotches on the front fold and coffee beans on the belly band from the retired A Latte Love stamp set. The coffee mug is from A Little Latte DSP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 This card is made using one of my favorite DSP sets - Storybook Moments. The paper is beautiful and the collection also includes 2 sheets of pre-cut images that coordinate with the paper. I used these pre-cut images on the Spotlight on Nature circle - the wheelbarrow and the fruit and veggies. The card base and the belly band are Boho Blue cardstock. The Boho Blue twine is from the Bakers Twine 3 Color pack.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another Designer Series Paper that also includes the pre-cut cardstock images is Wildflower Birthday. I mounted the DSP onto Soft Sea Foam base and mounted the pre-cut cake and florals onto an Everyday Details die-cut circle (retired). I also adhered a couple of the pre-cut images onto the front of the envelope. The birthday greeting is inside.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The last sample I made is using Floral Impressions DSP on Old Olive cardstock. The stamped greenery and the little lady bugs are from the Mixed Floral bundle. The sentiment is from the retired So Sincere stamp set. The circle is cut using Stylish Shapes dies.

Sketched Plaid Tutorial

This card illustrates how to customize the Sketched Plaid die to coordinate with any color scheme.

 

Supplies: Basic White cardstock, Pecan Pie cardstock, To Market DSP, Sketched Plaid stamp, Mixed Floral coneflower stamp, Pecan Pie ink, Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend, Spotlight on Nature sentiments, Deckled Rectangle die, Three Twine Combo Pumpkin Pie, Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins, small ruler

Cut Sizes: Basic White cardbase 8 ½” x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼”, 5” x 3 ¾”, 3 ½’ X 2 1/8’, scrap for sentiment; Pecan Pie 4” x 5 ¼”; DSP (2 patterns) 1 ½” x 3” each; twine 8”; sequins 3 brown

Instructions:

*Fold & burnish cardbase

*Stamp 5” x 3 ¾” Basic White with Sketched Plaid stamp, inked with Pecan Pie.( I find it easier with a large stamp like this to carefully lay my white cardstock onto the inked stamp, place a piece of scratch paper over this then rub around on the image with an acrylic block or your fingers until you feel you have pressed all areas of the stamp. Remove scratch paper then carefully lift the cardstock from the stamp.)

*Use Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend to add additional lines to Sketched Plaid pattern using a ruler. (I added in both directions for this one)

*Stamp sentiment with Pecan Pie ink. Cut sentiment to desired size

*Stamp flower image onto Basic White and trim with Deckled Rectangle die

*Adhere plaid stamped Basic White to Pecan Pie cardstock

*Adhere two 1 ½” x 3” pieces DSP to card front as shown

*Adhere stamped flower image onto card front with dimensionals

*Adhere sentiment(s) with dimensionals

*Adhere Sketched Plaid cardfront to cardbase.

*Tie bow with twine and add to flower stem

*Add sequins to card

April 10 Mystery Make It Together

 

These are the supplies needed to make this Mystery Card with me on the video.

Card base 8 ½" x 5 ½" scored at 4 ¼"

Coordinating cardstock 4" x 5 ¼"

10 strips of coordinating DSP/Cardstock 3 ¾" x ½" each cardstock circle or square 2"-3" size

This is the card that I made along with the YouTube video:

 

I used Timeless Plaid DSP, Cajun Craze card base, Pebbled Path card front on which I layered the strips. The circle is die cut with Spotlight on Nature die in Calypso Coral. For the butterflies I first stamped on Basic White with the Elements of Text circle stamp using Cajun Craze for one and Lost Lagoon for another. Then I die cut the Sketched Butterflies from the stamped text, several sizes from each color. 

I chose a 'get well' sentiment and stamped it with Pebbled Path at the top of the circle. I positioned the two butterflies around the text and adhered with dimensionals. I then added the circle to the card front with dimensionals as well. The bow is using Pebbled Path ribbon and the 3 sequins are from the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins.

 

 

 

 

This card is made using Serene Love DSP which is no longer available. The card base is Lost Lagoon and the card front is Basic White. The circle cut with Stylish Shapes is also Lost Lagoon. Mushrooms are built using the Terrific Toadstools bundle.

 

This next card is made using Unbounded Love DSP on a Petunia Pop card front and a Peach Pie card base. The image is fussycut from the DSP.

 The last sample I showed is using the Wildflower Birthday DSP which includes 2 sheets of die cut images, ready to use! So my images are all taken from that set. I used the Stylish Shapes square die in Lost Lagoon. The card front is also Lost Lagoon and the card base is Basic White.

Elements of Text

 This week's Stampin' Thursday video features the Elements of Text stamp set. This stamp set is so fun to use, especially if you are one of those who love the Shabby Chic or distressed look. No more searching through various stamp sets looking for 'text' or for splatters. Here it is...all in one!

  

I made several samples using these stamps.

 

The first sample is the Happy Birthday book bind card.I used the Wildflower DSP to create the front of this card. The cake, banner, stems are all die-cut images that are a part of this set of DSP. I also used one of the text stamps and one of the splatter stamped to create interest on the window frame, I created the window using the retired Countryside Corners die. I backed the window with 2024-2026 In-Color DSP mounted with adhesive strips behind the window. The card base is Boho Blue. The book bind edge uses retired Everyday Details die on the In-Color Peach Pie DSP. The inside is Basic White distressed in Boho Blue with a couple of the text stamps and sentiment stamped in same.

My second sample uses the cone flower stamp and the leaf stamp and die from Mixed Floral set. The card
base is Crumb Cake. The image is stamped on Basic White and colored with Stampin' Blends. the two leaf stems are stamped in Old Olive and die cut. Linen Thread is laced behind the stems which are mounted using dimensionals. The white is distressed with several of the Elements of Text stamps. The edges of the card base are also stamped with one of the text stamps. The sentiment is chosen from a set of dies using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. The edges of the Basic White inside are also stamped with a couple of the text images and overlaid with the stem stamp.

I wanted to do a more masculine card so my 'go-to' masculine set is Gone Fishing, which is currently on the Last Chance list.

I stamped the Crumb Cake 4" x 5 1/4" piece with one of the text stamps as well as one of the splatter stamps. Then I ran this piece through the Cut 'N Emboss with the Timeworn Type embossing folder. I love the look this gave it. I cut 3 pieces of Crumb Cake with the edge die in Gone Fishing and layered them. gluing only the right and left edges . I stamped and diecut the greenery from Charming Duck Pond, I stamped and diecut 4 fish from Gone Fishing. I tucked the greenery into the layers of 'sand' then scattered the 4 fish in, around and in front of the greenery. The lure was stamped and cut, mounted with dimensionals hanging from white twine. The sentiment stamped on Very Vanilla, fussy cut then mounted with dimensionals. The card front is adhere to Blueberry Bushel card base. The Very Vanilla inside piece is also stamped with text and splatter stamps with a fish swimming along the bottom.

 

   The last two cards include the one that I demonstrated. I showed the one with the black twine as the sample. Then I changed the twine to the Gold Twisted Thread on the 2nd. The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". The leaf front is cut from a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Old Olive cardstock using the Citrus Blooms die. I stamped the circle text on the Lemon Lolly with Basic Gray before I adhered the Old Olive piece on. I fussy cut the lemon stem from the Mediterranean Blooms DSP, which is on the Last Chance list. It is attached with dimensionals. The sentiment from Citrus Blooms is stamped on Basic White and cut with a Stylish Shapes die. I cut the mat from another stamped piece of Lemon Lolly, and adhered the white to it. Tie the twine around the end and into a bow then mount this piece with dimensionals. The inside uses another fussy cut piece of DSP and the same circle text die on Basic White.
