Mixed Media Floral Memories & More card demo

Today's Facebook Live features the Mixed Media Florals Memories & More card pack. This card pack includes 50 options (front & back of 25 cards) plus 4 sheets of stickers - both sentiments and other elements.

I used the cards above to create this card.

The card base is Basic White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". The Calypso Coral mat is 4" x 5 1/4". The two black and white florals are cards from the set trimmed to 2 1/2" x 3 7/8" then glued to the Calypso Coral. The floral center strip is cut from one of the cards and trimmed to 1/2" x 3 7/8" and matted with Basic Black 7/8" x 3 7/8". The Calypso Coral circle is cut with the largest Stylish Shapes circle die and the stamped image is cut with the next largest Stylish Shapes circle die. Watch the video to learn how to cut the overhanging blossom then mount the image onto the Calypso Coral. This piece is mounted onto the center strip using dimensionals. The sentiment, from Hope You Know stamp set, is heat-embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder onto a 5/8" x 3 7/8" Basic Black strip. Brushed Metallic Butterflies finish off this card.

Give this card set a try. You'll find lots of ways to use these cards. Next week's Stampin' Thursday will feature using them to create a scrapbook page!

If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you...or e-mail me at suzyzoo@verizon.net.

This is the card that I made on the video. I used Cajun Craze, Smoky Slate and Garden Green. The image is from Inspirational Sketches, I colored it then fussy cut it. The sentiment piece comes from Unbounded Love and the sentiment from Hope You Know. The circle is cut with Spotlight on Nature dies and the greenery using the Bough Punch.

This card uses a Basic White card base and Calypso Coral card front. The circle is using Serene Love DSP, currently on the Last Chance list and cut with a Spotlight on Nature die. For my sentiment I used the Thoughtful Moments dies and 3D Embossing Folder. The image is from Spotlight on Nature and I used 3 Brushed Brass Butterflies.

The last sample uses the Storybook Friends images. The card base is Wild Wheat, the card front is Early Espresso and the circle is Crumb Cake cut with a Stylish Shapes die. The sentiment comes from Beach Day. I stamped fish on the card front using a Gone Fishing stamp. I also distress all the pieces with Early Espresso ink. The card is finished off with a Linen Thread double bow. I thought this made a great masculine card.

Color Combos

Do you ever get bogged down using the same colors over and over? I love blues and greens, so I tend to turn that direction. To get myself out of that rut, I have started looking for different color combos to try out. A challenge called Color Fusers has helped me with this. So today I’m going to show some different color combos and demonstrate using one.

Here's a list of some of the color combos that I have gathered...most of them from the Color Fusers  Challenge.

BERRY BURST   LOST LAGOON   BLACKBERRY BLISS

AZURE AFTERNOON   DAFFODIL DELIGHT   PUMPKIN PIE

PETUNIA POP   SUMMER SPLASH   PEACH PIE

BUBBLE BATH   COASTAL CABANA   SOFT SEA FOAM

POOL PARTY   ORCHID OASIS   FRESH FRESIA

GARDEN GREEN   REAL RED   CHERRY COBBLER

BUBBLE BATH   PRETTY PEACOCK   POOL PARTY

PUMPKIN PIE   POPPY PARADE   SHADED SPRUCE

My YouTube video features the cards below made using some of these combos. The Easter Greetings butterfly card is demonstrated on the video

This first card uses Berry Burst, Lost Lagoon, and Blackberry Bliss. I used ink and blender brushes and Sketched Butterflies cut from Basic White. The Basic White cardbase is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". The Berry Burst mat is 4" x 5 1/4" and the Basic White cardfront is 5" x 3 3/4". I heat embossed the sentiment from Storybook Friends in black. There are 3 Basic Rhinestone gems to finish the card.

This second card uses the combo  Azure Afternoon, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. The cardbase is a Z-fold in Azure Afternoon. See this older video demonstrating how to do the Z fold. I used the Terrific Toadstools bundle to create the focal image and added clouds from Under the Moon stamped in Basic Beige. The birds are from Scenic Pumpkins. The DSP is from To Market and the ribbon is Daffodil
Delight.

The next card features Petunia Pop, Summer Splash and Peach Pie...all current In Colors. I used the smallest Stylish Shapes square die to cut the cardstock pieces. The stems and leaves use Autumn Leaves dies and Summer Splash cardstock. The sentiment is stamped on white, bannered and matted on Summer Splash cardstock.

The last sample I did features Bubble Bath, Pool Party and Pretty Peacock. I used the new Mixed Florals stampset and a background stamp from Spotlight on Nature. The black mat and the Basic White cardfront are cut with 2 of the Deckled Triangles.

I hope that you will give some different color combos a try. I'd love to know what combos that you have used. You can put that in the comments below! Thank you for visiting my blog.
