Mystery Make It Together 9.19.24

Here are the supplies that you need to gather in order to make this card. It is a simple card but unique at the same time.

The video on my Facebook group page or on YouTube will show you how to put this easy card together.

This is the card that I demonstrated on the video. It uses the Nests of Winter DSP and Gray Granite cardstock. The front sentiment is from Spotlight on Nature and the inside sentiment is from Cheerful Daisies. I used Linen Thread.

Here are the other sample cards that I made using this same format.

This card uses Splendid Autumn DSP. Scenery paper always makes the card more interesting. On the video I share a tip for using just one piece of 6"x6" DSP for this card. The card base is Cajun Craze. The ribbon is Copper Clay and the gems are from the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins. I love these because they are easier to mail! The sentiment on the front is from Spotlight on Nature. The inside sentiment says 'Your Friendship Means Everything' from Cheerful Daisies.

I wanted to make a Christmas card using this pattern so this one is made with Real Red cardstock and Take a Bow DSP. I used the Humble Home bundle. The house is punched from Early Espresso then stamped with Versamark and White Embossing Powder. The Real Red & White Adhesive Backed Peppermints can be found in the new Mini Catalog. Love these!! The Red & White twine is also available in the mini catalog. Both sentiments are from the Humble Home stamp set. The inside says From Our House to Yours.

This is actually the very first one that I made and follows the pattern exactly. It uses the Wildly Flowering DSP and Early Espresso cardstock. The ribbon is Moody Mauve. The sentiments are from Sketched Butterflies (Wishing You A Beautiful Birthday) and Unbounded Love (May All Your Wishes Come True). The gems are Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls.

This is an easy card to make and I hope that you will give it a try!

Telescope Technique

I love to see old techniques resurrected and used with current products!

This technique has been around but has recently become very popular. It is called the Telescope Technique. You will need a set of nested dies for this technique - Countryside Corners, Deckled Circles or Rectangles, Stylish Shapes, or the Perennial Postage dies are a few of the current sets available. You will also need cardstock for a base and a mat to coordinate with the DSP that you have selected. That is basically all you need except maybe a sentiment and some embellishments. You will also need a cutting machine for your nested dies.

The card that I demonstrate in the video uses Splendid Autumn DSP (3 7/8" x 5 1/8"), Blackberry Bliss  cardstock card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4") and Pumpkin Pie cardstock mat (4" x 5 1/4").  I used the Deckled Rectangles dies - the 3 next to the smallest. I cut these three dies, nested one inside the other, from the DSP. I then used Adhesive strips and dimensionals to adhere them back in place. I used Adhesive strips on the outside diecut piece, dimensionals on the next smallest and then glued the third piece (the rectangle) into the center. This creates the 'telescope' effect. I embellished with twine , a sentiment from Unbounded Love, and some random pieces of greenery.

The telescoping dies on this card spotlighted the sunset.

These are the other samples that I had made using this technique.

This sample uses the Nests of Winter DSP and the square Stylish Shapes dies. The sentiment is from Winterly Treetops in the new mini catalog.

This next sample uses Unbounded Beauty DSP and the Stylish Shapes circle dies. The flowers are fussy-cut from the DSP and the sentiment is from Unbounded Love.

This card uses Wildly Flowering DSP and the Countryside Corner dies. The sentiment is from Unbounded Love and Have a Blessed Day is stamped on the inside.

Lastly I wanted to try a Christmas card and instead of telescoping in, I tried telescoping out. I used DSP from A Little Bit Festive and the diecuts from that set as well. The sentiment diecut came from Joyful Sayings Ephemera pack - all of this available in the new September - December 2024 mini catalog. To achieve the opposite telescope effect, I used the least amount of adhesive on the outside diecut piece, a little more on the 2nd diecut piece and the thickest amount on the center piece. The video goes into more detail how to do this!

I hope that you will give this Telescope Technique a try! If you do not have a Stampin' Up demonstrator to help you, please e-mail me and I'd love to help! You can see all products at my on-line shop
