Half Flap Fun Fold Card

Today's Stampin' Thursday showed how to make a Half Flap Fun Fold card. This is an easy fun fold  that offers the opportunity to create using many different stamp bundles.

To create a Half Flap Fun Fold card, you start with an 11" x 8 1/2" piece of colored cardstock, scored at   5 1/2". Next you will cut a 2" piece off of the front. Do that by turning the card to the shorter side on the trimmer and cutting 2" to the center fold. Turn the cardstock to the left and make a cut down the center fold to the 2" mark, This will release the 2" by 5 1/2" piece - the top part of the front of the card. When you watch the video, you'll see how easy it is to cut incorrectly! You want to cut 2" x 5 1/2" off the top of the front flap. Once you do it right, it is really easy after that!!

Here's the first card I did.

and the inside...

As you can see, the flap is the 2 1/4" piece - the 2" piece is cut out.
The cardstock is Night of Navy and the DSP 2" x 5 1/2" piece is from Regency Park DSP. The Basic White on the inside is 4" x 5 1/4". Decorate the front first. I used the Petal Park punch with Sweet Sorbet and Balmy Blue cardstock. The leaves were cut with Texture Chic dies from Mint Macaron. These pieces were layered and placed around the front, peeking over the top. The Thinking of You was stamped in Night of Navy, visible with the card closed. I added stems that would also be visible when the front is closed. Then I stamped the 2nd sentiment so that it would be hidden until the card is opened. I also added two of the small flowers. Although it is not shown on the photos, I will add gems to each flower on the front.

The 2nd sample is made using the Season of Chic bundle for the flowers and leaves. The flowers are stamped in Petal Pink and Mango Melody, with the Mango Melody diecut accent. The leaves are cut from the Distressed Gold DSP to highlight the gold in the Texture Chic DSP, The sentiments are also from Season of Chic. The splatter is stamped in Mango Melody, the inside leaves and sentiments in Smoky Slate.

The third sample card is made using Seaside Bay bundle and By the Bay DSP. The card base is Crumb Cake with Very Vanilla on the inside. The sea grass is die cut from Dry Brushed Metallic DSP. The oyster shell is Coastal Cabana and the pearl inside is an Flat Adhesive Backed Pearl. I also used retired Faux Sea Glass gems.

The last sample is the one that we made together on the video. I used a Basic White cardbase on this one with Mint Macaron cardstock and a Basic White inside piece cut with Contour dies. The butterflies were diecut with retiring Butterfly Brilliance using Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy. The DSP on the front flap is retiring Country Gingham. The sentiments are from retiring Peaceful Moments stamp set.

Die-ing to Know...Irresistible Blooms

On today's Die-ing to Know, we looked at the Irresistible Blooms bundle...piece by piece. We diecut two of the more intricate dies and made several cards using various pieces.

You will definitely want to watch the video on Facebook or YouTube to learn ways to use the two 'beaded' dies especially. You will also learn ways to attach these pieces.

Here are the sample cards that I showed using the various dies and stamps.

The three above show ways to use the 'beaded curtain' die.

These last two cards show two ways to use the beaded circle die. It can be cut loose and used separately or it can be used as a cut-out on the card front itself. Both are beautiful!

The paper that coordinates with this bundle is called Hello Irresistible. The video will show each pattern.
